The Bumble Bee by Alessandra Sanguinetti - DDRC Special Edition Zine
The Bumble Bee was originally a childhood magazine created by artist Alessandra Sanguinetti when she was nine years old.
In 2019, Alessandra decided to revisit her childhood project, creating a group of paintings that were simply tied together by the fact that they illustrated what was on her mind in the moments when she created them. Surreal, funny, sometimes political, always personal--these images delighted us here at DDRC when Alessandra proposed the idea of possibly using them for our “Duende” themed volume. Once they were all sent to us, it quickly became evident that they should be their own little DDRC bonus publication, one that echoes back to the magazine that she created as a child.
We are grateful to Alessandra for sharing these wonderful paintings with us, and we are pretty confident that you will love them too.
This zine was printed in an edition of 125 following Alessandra Sanguinetti’s collaboration with Dada Duende Record Club on its second volume, “Duende”, in the Fall of 2023.
